Shabbat Spot with Ruth Messinger, American Jewish World Service

Shabbat Shalom,

This week is Parashat Emor and the Torah says, “you shall not put a stumbling block in front of the blind.” For the past decade, Ruth Messinger has dedicated her work to  removing stumbling blocks for some of the neediest people and places on our globe. Through political advocacy, education, and a deep personal conviction to make the world a better place, Ruth defines the Jewish adage, “If not now, when?”

Rabbi Levine met with Ruth in her NYC office on May 9, 2012.
