+ Rosh Hashanah Gathering Plan
Dear Members and Friends,
First, to new members and friends joining us for the first time for Rosh Hashanah, welcome! It will be so nice to celebrate the Jewish New Year with you. There are a few exciting new additions this year.
Alef: We will have all the prayers projected this year onto a screen at the front of the chapel. Keeping in line with the forward thinking way of experiencing community, we’re adding a few digital elements in a tasteful way to the holidays. There will also be a prayerbook for each person as we’ve had in the past.
Bet: The Ark Dedication and official installation will be at Rosh Hashanah evening services on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. This is a milestone for Tamid and for the Jewish community downtown and promises to be an historic evening.
Gimel: We have a new voice at Tamid this year. Daniel Leanse will be our musical director creating a trio with Rich Stein and Noah Hoffeld. For the past two years, Rich (percussion) and Noah (cello). Over the summer, our members received Daniel’s Jewish prayer album called, Gesher. We’re sure that listening to this CD will truly inspire you in advance of the services.
Now, logistics: please arrive at least 15 minutes before services (times below) begin to pass through security, check-in, and find your open seat. Tamid members and paid guests with reservations will be on the door list meaning you do not need a ticket or any receipt confirmation, just come as you are. Please enter the Chapel gates on Vesey Street between Church St. and Broadway.
SHABOOM!Our exciting Children’s and Young Family service begins at 9 AM in the Chapel for music and song and then moves to the patio for story, shofar blasts, and apples and honey and will conclude at 10:30. Each adult needs a ticket or be a Tamid member and certainly you are invited to stay for the Main Service.
Main Services begin at 10 AM followed by a casual brunch provided by Zucker’s Bagels and Smoked Fish.
Children: At Tamid, children are very important. Please help your child understand the sacred nature of a holiday gathering so that everyone can enjoy a peaceful and meaningful day. We’ve created a Holiday Quest for them to complete on Thursday which should help focus their attention. When your children need a break, please take them to the art table on the patio or for a gentle walk in the gardens. Parents are asked to be with their children at all times for safety reasons.
If you need to make your reservation, or add people to your guest list, please register here.
Send us an email if there is anything we can do to help you or make your New Year experience that much sweeter.
L’shana Tova, Happy New Year!
